66°North story
Founded in 1926 by Hans Kristjánsson with the purpose of making protective clothing for Icelandic fishermen and workers braving the North Atlantic elements. Hans lived in Suðureyri in Súgandafjörður, in the Westfjords of Iceland. Here, weather conditions were extreme, and having suitable clothing was a matter of life and death.
Challenge
66°North had a manual returns process which caused slow refund processing and a lot of manual work. In addition, they had no intuitive way to offer exchanges and relied on customers placing new orders on the website (less than 2% did that).
